Pastor John Punni shares The Compass – a weekly video devotion posted each Wednesday morning on this page. Scroll down to see these videos.

I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one.   John 17:14-15 (ESV)

My brothers and sisters, as you follow through with me every Wednesday, staying in the Word of God and in prayer along with spending time in the presence of the Lord will help us guard against any influence affecting the accuracy of our spiritual compass. Amen!

New Devotional Series: “Indestructible Blessings” beginning November 30, 2022

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth gives way, and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.  Psalm 46:1-3

Mountains are symbols of strength and permanence. We think of them as being completely solid, indestructible, immovable. And what the Psalmist is telling us here is that even if the most solid and reliable things in our world start to tremble and give way, God will still be there, unchanging, and unchangeable.

Nothing in this world is indestructible. As we contemplate this new world we’re living in, as we evaluate what step we should now be taking to protect ourselves and our families, I think many people have been asking, “Where can I find security? What can I really depend on? What can I be sure will never fail me?” And the disappointing, but truthful answer is, “nothing”.

The bottom line is that there is literally nothing solid, nothing permanent, in this world. There is nothing in the political world, or in the physical world, or in any other aspect of our existence, that is absolutely safe from destructive change. The only place where complete security is to be found is in the spiritual world, in the love of God for His people. So, in the next few weeks, we are going to be looking at some of these “Indestructible Blessings” that God has provided for us in Jesus Christ.
