First Time Visitor

The main entrances to Cornerstone for morning services.

First time to attend a service? We welcome you as you are, to dress comfortably, and to participate with an open heart. There is no dress code, no requirement for you to be a Methodist to attend worship. We welcome anyone, regardless of where they are in their relationship with God.

Morning services are in our main building in the sanctuary. Parking is available in our parking lot north of the church as well as across May Avenue in the Taft Stadium lot. Entrances are the doors facing Taft Stadium. The northernmost doors have stairs, and the middle southern door is handicap accessible with a ramp. Once inside, an usher and other friendly faces will greet you and can show the way to the sanctuary as well as the restrooms.
Services are just under an hour, though on holidays the time can run a bit longer.

On the first Sunday of the month, we have communion in the 10:45 AM service and the 5:00 PM dinner church service. The 9:00 AM service has communion every Sunday. Communion at a United Methodist Church is open to anyone and everyone.

Dinner Church service attendees can park in the same places mentioned above but will enter the building behind the main one called the Activity Building aka the gym. The entry doors are in the one-way alleyway. Once inside, you’ll be greeted and pointed towards the gym where someone will suggest getting a drink and finding a seat at one of the tables. You can come as early as 4:00 PM to hang out. Announcements and opening prayer begin at 5:00 PM and afterwards a line will start forming to get dinner. As soon as it looks like everyone has received food, the pastor, lay leader, or guest speaker will begin their message. We will end that with a prayer and afterwards if we still have food, you’ll be invited to get seconds.

We have one highchair currently and a few booster seats available for children. We also have a kid’s table that has crayons and coloring sheets for them. If you need help getting food, you can let someone with a badge know that you need a hand and we will help you. Both of our restrooms are handicap accessible as is the Activity Building itself.
