Live Differently – March 2, 2022 – May 29, 2022
When we come to Christ, when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior the Bible speaks of us being ‘born-again’. We begin a process of change and transformation that changes the way we act, the way we think, the way we live our daily lives. Our focus changes, instead of focusing on ourselves, our needs, wants or desires we focus on God and His will and purpose for us.
That is what is meant to happen to us as followers of Jesus we are meant to be different. Sadly, some people refuse to be different, they want all the benefits of having their sins forgiven, all the benefits of being loved and cared for by God, the guarantee of a place in Heaven, but they don’t want to be different.
The truth is there is a cost in following Jesus, there are changes that we must be willing to make in how we live our lives. There may be things present in our lives that we enjoy that are against the will and purpose of God.
God calls us to be different, Holy, set apart, strangers. God calls us to honor and serve Him in every aspect of our lives. Not just for an hour or two on a Sunday when we meet, we are meant to be different every moment of every day. In the next few weeks of Lent and Easter, we will encourage you to dare to be strange and “Live Differently” for the Lord. Amen!
